Kansanshi Mine Kickstarts 2024 with a Focus on Safety and Performance

Kansanshi Mining Plc kicked off the year with its first town hall meeting of 2024. The meeting focused on the importance of occupational safety, with Kansanshi Mine General Manager, Anthony Mukutuma, calling on every employee to be alert and prioritise safety when carrying out their duties.

He called on team leaders to step up and ensure that they continually improve adherence to safety protocols.
Safety Manager Teza Kasengele presented the company’s safety performance from the previous year and set zero fatalities for all, including contractors, among other safety targets for 2024.
In addition, Mr Mukutuma and his management team provided updates on the company’s performance on production, cost, waste reduction measures, and the S3 expansion project.
Employees were commended for their efforts in achieving 97% of the savings target in 2023, highlighting their commitment to operational optimisation.
The Mining Technical Services were recognised for achieving the highest savings in the fourth quarter of 2023 – this being their second winning quarter!

A selection of employees also received recognition for their exceptional performance review ratings.
The town hall meeting is an interactive forum where management and employees engage and garner insights and feedback on diverse matters.
